Barbara A. Adgate 1926 - 2014

Fowler- Barbara A. Adgate, 87, passed away Monday, January 6, 2014 at Concord Care Center.

She was born on December 27, 1926 in Warren, Ohio the daughter of Charles C. and Thelma A. (nee Barber) Wood.

Barbara attended Warren G. Harding High School and was employed with Brainard Steel and Packard Electric. She was also the former co-owner of Lakevue Cleaning Center in Cortland.

Mrs. Adgate was a member of First Presbyterian Church of Warren and the Champion Presbyterian Church, where she enjoyed singing in their choirs. Barbara was a charter member of the Trumbull NewTheater, "TNT." She enjoyed knitting, playing cards and her beloved dogs.

She is survived by her daughters, Lauri (David) Holmes and Debbe (Mike Kitzmiller) Adgate both of Cortland; a son, Herbert Reed (Eileen Hogenmiller) Adgate, Jr. of Jamestown, PA.; two grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and a brother, Charles (Layes) Wood of Hartford.

Barbara is preceded in death by her husband, Herbert R. Adgate, Sr.; and her parents.

A celebration of life will be held on Friday, January 10, 2014 at 5:00 P.M. at Vienna United Methodist Church, 4265 Warren-Sharon Rd., Vienna, with Pastor Cathy Ake, officiating. Family will receive friends from 4 PM until time of services at 5 PM. A memorial dinner will follow the services.

Inurnment of cremains at Crown Hill Burial Park and Mausoleum will take place at a later date.

Memorials in memory of Barbara may be given to the Vienna United Methodist Church or the charity of one's choice.
