SOUTHINGTON - Charles M. Plant, 86, of Southington passed away at Community Skilled Nursing Home Saturday morning, June 19, 2010.

Charles was born June 11, 1924 in Corning, OH, the son Percy and Marguerite Jadwin Plant. .

Charles was a 1942 graduate of Bristolville High School in Bristolville, OH.

He was employed by Packard Electric for 55 years, retiring in 1997.

Charles was a U. S. Army WWII Veteran that served in the European Theater as an ambulance driver and medic.

Charles was a member of the Leavittsburg Church of God and a member of The Gathering. He enjoyed golfing, working crossword puzzles, traveling, writing in his journals and socializing with his fellow man.

Charles leaves to cherish his memory, three Children, Linda (Wayne) Arndt of NJ, Elaine (Ken) Ponikvar of Warren and Charles M. (Kathy) Plant of Dayton; two stepdaughters, Lisa (Mark) Mitchell of Orlando, FL, and Trish Shaffer of Florida; 2 Brothers, Carl (Pat) Plant of Indiana and Vernon (Linda) Plant of Warren; 2 Sisters Ruth Varvir of Orwell, OH and Diane (Alan) Bradford of Gustdavis, OH; two grandchildren, Joseph and Emily Arndt and 2 step Grandchildren Justin and Travis Mitchell.

Preceding Charles in death are his parents, his wife Martha (Hanna) Plant, who he married on September 11, 1989 and passed away on June 27, 2009, 4 brothers Clement, Donald, Dale and Paul Plant.

Calling hours will be Tuesday from 5:00 to 8:00 pm and Wednesday from 11:00 to 12:00 pm, at Crown Hill Chapel Mausoleum, with the funeral service at 12:00 pm on Wednesday, also at Crown Hill Chapel Mausoleum in Vienna.
