Southington - Clifford L. Hurst, Sr., 70, of Southington, died early Monday morning, July 6, 2015, in Trumbull Memorial Hospital.

Clifford was born August 11, 1944 in Warren, the son of Clifford and Madeline Hurst (Nobbs).

He served in the U.S. Army and was a 33 year employee of Copperweld Steel, retiring March 2, 2001.

Clifford was a 32nd Degree Scottish Rite Mason of Youngstown and also belonged to the Cortland Blue Lodge. He also attended the Vienna United Methodist Church.

He married his wife of 49 years, Cora (Hake) Hurst on April 10, 1966.

Clifford enjoyed the outdoors and always had a beautiful garden.

Clifford leaves behind his wife, Cora; his two sons, Clifford L. Hurst, Jr. of Tampa, FL and Henry F. Hurst of Champion; brothers, James (Teresa) Hurst, Ron (Teresa) Nobbs, Harry (Terri) Nobbs and Barry Nobbs; sisters, Helen (LeRoy) Johnson, Luetta (Gene) Pyatt, Aggie (Bill) Reed, Carol (John Bidinotto) Foust and Penny (Steve) Bada. He also leaves behind eight grandchildren.

His parents; a son, Charles Hurst; his brother, David Hurst; and niece, Donna Sines, preceded Clifford in death.

The family would like to thank the ER staff, Dr. Woods and the Cath Lab Team at Trumbull Memorial Hospital for trying to save Clifford's life.

Visitation will be held Friday, from 1 pm to 2 pm, with the service to follow at 2 pm, at Crown Hill's Chapel Mausoleum in Vienna.

Burial will take place in Crown Hill Burial Park
