Obituary

Deloris Waddell, 85, went home to be with the lord on Tuesday, October 6, 2026. She was born in Willard Kentucky on August 24, 1941, a daughter to the late Orin and Gladys (Adkins) Waddell.

Deloris was a 1960 graduate of Clear Fork High School in Colcord WV. She worked for Warren General Hospital for many years in the Central Supplies Department until her retirement in 2002.

She loved her Lord and Savior and was faithful in her church when she was able. She loved traveling and her favorite trip was one she took to Israel with her mother and sister. She enjoyed reading, time with her family and taking vacations. Deloris was an animal lover and her cats and dogs were her family. She was generous to a fault, a kindness lived within her and she would do anything for anyone. She will be deeply missed.

She leaves behind many to mourn her including her brothers Billy Waddell and Arvel (Juanita) Waddell; nieces Beverly (Richard) Peffer, Donna Waddell, Karen (David) Goldberg, Robin Waddell (Megan Hands); nephews Brian (Pamela) Waddell, Wayne (Donna) Waddell; 15 great nieces and nephews and many great-great nieces and nephews.

Predeceasing her were her parents, her sisters Alma and Maxine Waddell and her sister-in-law Ruth Waddell.

The family would like to express their deepest gratitude to Gillette Nursing Home staff, nurses and nurses’ aides and Akeso Hospice for their unwavering care and support.

Calling hours will be on Wednesday, October 14, 2026 from 11am to 12pm with a Service beginning at 12pm and burial to follow at Crown Hill Burial Park Chapel and Mausoleum in Vienna, OH.

Caring and Professional Services were entrusted to Selby Funeral Home.
