1936 - 2015

Liberty Township - Donald N. McLaughlin, 78, of Liberty Township, died Wednesday, June 3, 2015, at UPMC Shadyside Hospital in Pittsburgh.

Donald was born September 20, 1936 in Clearfield, PA, the son of William and Velma (Graffius) McLaughlin.

He was a graduate of Stark County College, and he worked for WCI as a machinist for 44 years, retiring in 1999.

Donald married Gail E. (Short) McLaughlin on August 26, 1956.

He was a member of the Churchill United Methodist Church and a member of the Western Reserve Fish and Game Club.

Donald enjoyed traveling, camping, fishing, hunting and was a fan of the Pittsburgh Pirates. But most of all, he loved spending time with his loving wife of 58 years, and being with his children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Donald leaves behind his wife, Gail; two sons, Ken (Arvilla) of Navarre, OH and Dave (Michele) of Austintown; daughters Barbara (Dan) Johnson of Fowler, Lynne McLaughlin and Marilyn (Paul) Cerimele of Simpsonville, SC; brothers Clifford (Judy) McLaughlin of McDonald and John (Janet) McLaughlin of Lordstown; sisters, Frances Gross of Woodland, PA, Norma (Tom) Lippert of Woodland, PA, Carol Ann (Bob) Sabo of Vienna, Mary Gerthung of New Philadelphia and Karen (Al) Perry of Warren; grandchildren, Jimmy, Kristina, Kimberly, Travis, David, Donnie, Kama and George; great-grandchildren, Haylee, Baylee, Khloee and Jace.

A brother, Larry McLaughlin, a brother-in-law, Glenn Gross and a great-grandchild, Kaytlin preceded Donald in death.

Calling hours will be Saturday from 12:00 to 1:00 pm, with the funeral service at 1:00 pm, at Crown Hill Chapel Mausoleum in Vienna.

Burial will take place at Crown Hill Burial Park.
