Obituary

"Do not let your hearts be troubled. You believed in God; believe also in me. My Father's house has many rooms; if that were not so, would I have told you that I'm going there to prepare a place for you?" –John 14:1-3

On January 25, 2025, Donna Jean Cottrill went home to be with the lord and her mother, whom she missed dearly.

Donna was born on January 2, 1947 in Youngstown, Ohio; A daughter to Brady M. and Avis G. (Ware) Cottrill.

She was part of the graduating class of 1965 from Hubbard High School.

Donna absolutely loved crafting, making them, buying and selling them and giving them to her loved ones as mementos. She was a member of the Moose Club and spent many years bowling. Fishing held a special place in her heart. Donna had many memories of fishing at Mosquito Lake and jumped at any opportunity to go. Even when she caught nothing, she enjoyed "feeding" the fish. Donna had a big heart and wanted nothing more than to be surrounded by the ones she loved most.

Her memory will live on in those that loved her most including; daughters Lisa (Quentin) Yocum of Warren, OH, Jamie (Michael) Dolenic of Boardman, OH, Doreen (Sheral) Yocum of New Martinsville, WV; grandchildren Nicholas (Kim) Rhoads of Austintown, OH, Melissa (Houston) Cantrell-Nearhoof of Liberty, OH, Jenna (Sean) Cantrell-Clark of Liberty, OH; great-grandchildren Christoph, Reagan, Kaelyn, Hayden, Lily, Michael and Landyn; a sister Linda Barnes of Hubbard, OH and many nieces and nephews.

Donna was predeceased by her parents, a sister Leeta Lewis and a brother Gerald Cottrill.

The family would like to thank the staff at St. Joes Hospital for taking such wonderful care of Donna and all of them during her final days, a big thank you to Compassus for their Hospice services and the staff and people at Gillette Nursing Home for all they did and were to Donna.

As we say goodbye, our hearts hurt with the depth of this loss, but they also swell with gratitude for the years we shared, the memories we created and for the love that will never die. Thank you for being you, for loving us all and shaping us into who we are today.

Services will be private with a Celebration of Life at a later date.

Professional Services were handled by Selby Funeral Home in Vienna, Ohio.
