Obituary

Niles - Edmond W. Keefer passed away at his residence Wednesday, December 23, 2015. Born

July 9, 1923 son of the late Harold E. and Irene A. Shields, Eddy leaves behind his loving wife of 66 years Betty (Begalla) Keefer whom he married September 24, 1949 and a son Garry Keefer of Niles.

After graduating from Warren High School he attended Kent State, The WBC and the National Radio TV & Electronic Institute where he received his FCC License. A dedicated employee, Eddy worked at United Telephone Co. for 30 years as a cable coordinator. A man of many talents he also received a Associate Degree in Accounting Business Administration and was a licensed real estate agent for Century 21.

Proudly serving his country in WWII with the 4422 QM. Battalion where he received 2 bronze stars.

Eddy took pride in his memberships of several organizations which included the Free & Accepted Masons Carroll F Clapp #655 of Warren, The American Legion, The VFW #2662, The National Association of Realtors and the Independent Pioneers I.T.P.A and was also a member of the First United Methodist Church in Warren.

Eddy leaves behind 3 grandchildren, John E. (Paula) Keefer of Kalida, Yvonne M. (Brian) Porterfield, Southington and Jennifer G (Scott) Meeker of Niles. Along with eight great-grandchildren who included Chasitie Keefer, Wheelersburg, Tonya Keefer, Southington and Layne Keefer of Kalida, Kaitlyn Keefer, Kalida, Seth Meeker, Niles, Zachary and Maximus Cicero, Niles, and Lucas Porterfield of Southington.

Selby Funeral Home will be handling arrangements with Private Services to be held in the Mausoleum Chapel.
