1942 - 2015

Cortland - Edward S. Siefert, 72, of Cortland, died Wednesday, February 25, 2015 at Autumn Hills Care Center in Niles.

Edward was born July 15, 1942 in Liberty Township, the son of Joseph E. and Ethel Mae (Davis) Siefert.

A former resident of Girard, Edward worked as a Diesel Technician for Ohio Fast Freight for 15 years.

He was an avid drag racing enthusiast. Edward raced cars and motorcycles and enjoyed camping, fishing and attending his grandchildren's sporting events.

Edward married Mary M. (Woomer) Siefert on December 15, 1962.

He leaves behind a son, Joseph E. (Lisa) Siefert of Vienna; two daughters, Susan L. (James) Turek and Kimberly A. Maroti, of Vienna; a sister, Sally L. Morey of Liberty; grandchildren, Joseph E. Siefert Jr. of Vienna, Kristina M. (William) Maple of Vienna, Mary Turek and Damon Warren of Fowler, Karilynn Maroti of Vienna, Megan E. Turek of Vienna and Jenna A. Siefert of Vienna.

Edward's wife, Mary, preceded him in death in March of 1990.

Visitation will be held Tuesday, from 5:00 to 6:00 pm, with the funeral service to follow at 6:00 pm, at Crown Hill's Chapel Mausoleum in Vienna. Pastor Cathy Ake will officiate.

Burial will take place in Crown Hill Burial Park.
