Warren - Eugene W. Wagner, 89, died Friday, August 5, 2011 at St. Joseph Health Center in Warren.
Mr. Wagner was born September 29, 1921, in West Farmington, Ohio, the son of Charles and Martha Wagner.
Gene was a veteran of WWII, serving in the U.S. Army.
He was a pipe fitter for 47 years and a member of Union Local 396.
He married Marilyn (Norton) Wagner February 2, 1944.
Gene was an avid baseball fan and golfer. He enjoyed fishing and was one of the original members who started Little League in Howland Twp.
Beside his wife of 57 years, he leaves two sons, Franklyn "Corky" (Mary Jane) Wagner and John (Susan) Wagner; five grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Four brothers and six sisters preceded Gene in death.
Private services were held Tuesday at Selby Funeral Home Chapel Mausoleum in Vienna.
Entombment took place in Crown Hill Burial Park.
