1920 - 2015

Niles - Gladys Pearl Estes, 94, died Saturday, January 3, 2015 at Trumbull Memorial Hospital.

Gladys was born July 2, 1920, in Buffalo, NY, the daughter of Floyd E. and Lauretta B. (Lawrence) Pilger.

She was an Army veteran of WWII, and was later employed by Republic Steel in Niles. She later worked for Trumbull Memorial Hospital as a register nurse, retiring in 1957.

Gladys married Lyle W. Estes on September 9, 1950. Lyle died in 2007.

Gladys leaves behind two sons, William and Thomas Estes; a brother, Dr. Lawrence G. Pilger; a sister, Ann Pilger Tereba; and three grandchildren, Lyle Wayne Estes, Thomas William Estes and Sandra Lynn Estes.

Her husband and brother, Floyd E. Pilger, Jr. preceded Gladys in death.

There will be no calling hours or funeral service.
