Gloria M. Cool 1940 - 2013

Warren - Gloria M. Cool, 72, died Wednesday, November 20, 2013 at Hospice House in Poland, Oh. Gloria, the daughter of late Chester and Alberta (Nicholson) Cantelupe, was born in Warren on December 7, 1940.

Gloria married James E. Cool on March 17, 1981.

She was a graduate of Warren G. Harding and worked more than 20 years for First Place Bank.

After being diagnosed with cancer in 1992, Gloria became an active organizer and participant in the Warren Relay for Life events and fundraising activities for over 10 years. She also was involved at the Cortland Relay with the Cortland Church of Christ.

Through her own personal suffering, she mentored many other cancer survivors with a positive attitude and example to others.

Gloria was an active member of the Cortland Church of Christ, who became known as the decoration coordinator for special events. She was a key member during a project that was completed in the fall of 2012, resulting in the establishment of a new church building for the congregation.

Gloria leaves behind two sons, Mark and Jeffrey (Robin) Fickes; and a daughter Sherry (Brian) Alfred; grandchildren, Kimberly, Kaylen and Jennifer Fickes and Eric and David Alfred.

Gloria's life's journey was greatly enhanced by her close friend of over 28 years, Kandy Hricik, as well as Kandy's daughter, Klara, who Gloria treasured as a granddaughter.

Her parents and husband James, preceded her death.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, November 23, at 11:30 am at Cortland Church of Christ, 2330 Hoagland Blackstub Rd. NE, Warren, Ohio. With visitation from 10 am to 11:30 at the church. Minister Terry Siverd will officiate the service.

Entombment will take place in Crown Hill Burial Park.

The family requests that any monetary contributions be sent to the Cortland Church of Christ.
