Lake Milton - James L. Holloway, Sr. 82, died Saturday, February 14, 2015, at his residence.
James was born March 16, 1932, in Gloversville, NY, the son of William C. and Myrtle Chase (Williams) Holloway.
James was a veteran of the Korean War, joining the U.S. Army in 1951.
After his honorable discharge in 1953, he married Doris I. (Robbins) Holloway on October 2, of the same year. Doris died in 2008.
He retired March 31, 1994 after 26 years as an assembler at Lordstown G.M. plant.
James was a member of the Jackson Milton VFW and Local 1112 of the UAW.
He was a Cleveland Indians and Browns fan and loved traveling.
He leaves behind three sons, Richard L. (Debra) of Newton Falls, David (Susanne) of Euclid, James L. (Rhonda) of Newton Falls; three daughters, Darlene Ann (Don) Turner of Tarpon Springs, FL, Dianna Lynn (Aubrey) Adams of Lake Milton; his step-mother Ruth Blatchford; a son-in-law, William Brown of Newton Falls; a brother, John Holloway of Coral Spring, FL; two sisters, Dayle Kaminski of Leesburg, FL and Donna Marotta of Amsterdam, NY; 16 grandchildren, 23 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great-grandchild.
His wife, Doris, his daughter Janine Marie Brown, and a sister Shirley Quinn preceded James in death.
Visitation will be held Saturday, February 21, from 2:00 to 3:00 pm, with the funeral service to follow at 3:00 pm, at Crown Hill Chapel Mausoleum in Vienna.
Burial will take place in Crown Hill Burial Park.
