Girard - Private services were held for John William Meltz, 60, of Girard, who passed away at his home. Mr. Meltz was born on September 25, 1950 in Youngstown the son of John and Josephine Rood Check. He was a U.S. Marine veteran serving as a supply sergeant during the Vietnam era. He leaves to cherish his memory two daughters, Linda Meltz of Thief River Falls, MN and Peggy (Chuck) Eaton of Mineral Bluff, Ga; and three grandchildren. His parents preceded him in death. Arrangements were handled by Selby Simpson Funeral Home, Vienna.
