John H. Stamm, Jr., 82 of Wooster and formerly of Cortland, passed away on Monday, April 7, 2014 at Wooster Community Hospital.

John was born, July 9, 1931 in Hartford, Ohio to John H. and Dorothy (Jeans) Stamm. He was a United States Army Veteran serving in Germany from 1951- 1954. John was employed as an electrician with Republic Steel, LTV Steel and retired from Severstal.

Mr. Stamm was a member of New Life Lutheran Church and the Trumbull County Tractor Club. He was a farmer and enjoyed gardening and tractors. His family will remember him as a champion joke teller.

He is survived by his wife, Jean A. Stamm, whom he married on September 8, 1980 in Liberty Township; one daughter; one sister; four grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

He is preceded in death by his parents; one son; and three sisters.

Funeral services will be held, Friday, April 11, 2014 at 3:30 P.M., at the Crown Hill Burial Park and Mausoleum, 3966 Warren-Sharon Rd., Vienna, with Pastors Bill Wessner and Sharon Brown, officiating. Family will receive friends at the mausoleum chapel on Friday from 2:30 P.M. until time of services at 3:30.
