Obituary

Kay F. Hovis, 86, passed away at Continuing Health at the Ridge on March 13, 2026. Kay lived in Fowler, Niles Edison Place.

She worked at Commercial Shearing, U.S. Army Corps of Engineer at Mercer Recreation and Valley Piano & Organ of Hermitage, PA. She loved playing and teaching people to play the organ.

Kays’s nickname was “Eagle Lady” because she loved her eagles. She had her whole house decorated with them. She loved to crochet. She made and taught others to make Afghans and different kinds of dolls. She enjoyed making needle point pictures and many different crafts like ceramic Christmas trees and Disney characters. She absolutely loved animals. She will be missed.

Kay leaves behind daughter Tammy (Steve) of Jamestown PA and son Gary (Sandy) of Warren, OH; grandchildren Amber (Michael), Nicholas (Lauren), Michael, Stevie, Brenda, Brian; great-grandchildren Chyanne, Hailee, Vincent, Amelia, Franklin, William, Bella, Brandon, Mackenzie (Trevor) and many more; all of her friends that loved her dearly.

Kay was preceded in death by her parents and her husband William Hovis.

Caring and Professional Services were entrusted to Selby Funeral Home.
