Niles - Lawrence E. Foreman Sr, 91, passed away at his residence Monday, March 19, 2012.

Lawrence was born April 20, 1920 in Warren, the son of Carl and Rhea (Meister) Foreman.

Lawrence was a graduate of Warren G. Harding High School and attended Westminster College.

He was a veteran of WWII, having served in Okinawa for the U.S. Navy.

He lived in the area his entire life and worked a 72 acre farm in Vienna, where he raised livestock and agricultural crops while working full time as a superintendent at Copperweld Steel. Upon retiring from Copperweld after 32 years, he then worked for Cerni Motors for 10 years, where he became the top sales person. .

Lawrence was the founder and president of the Traveling Golf Group for 30 years and a member of the Masonic Lodge for 60 years.

Lawrence enjoyed golf, bowling and dancing, and loved to exercise and play cards.

He married the former Madge Lenore Lashorn on September 30, 1939. Madge passed away in 1992.

Lawrence will be greatly missed by his son, Lawrence E. (Jody) Foreman, Jr. of Bellefontaine, OH; his three daughters, Larralene Foreman of Raleigh, NC, Linda (Robert) Mack of Denver, CO, and Madge (Rick) Parks of Bailey, CO; grandchildren, Lenore Boyd and Lindsi Parks, Christa Foreman, Shannon Rhoden an d Charles Foreman, and four great-grandchildren.

His wife, Madge Foreman, a sister, Mary E. Miller and a brother, Samuel Foreman preceded him in death.

Calling hours will be from 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm, Thursday, March 22, and an hour prior to the funeral service which is at 1:00 pm, Friday, March 23, at Selby Funeral Home's Crown Hill Chapel Mausoleum in Vienna.

Burial will take place in Crown Hill Burial Park.

Following the burial, the family will receive friends at the Café 422 starting at 3:00 pm.

The family has asked that any monetary contributions be sent to the American Cancer Society. P.O. Box 22718, Oklahoma City, OK 73123-1718, or Hospice of the Valley.
