IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Louise M.
Marsico
June 28, 1920 – October 27, 2017
1920 - 2017
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Friday, November 3, 2017 for Louise Mary Marsico, 97, who died Friday, October 27, 2017 at 8:52 am in her home at Friendship Village of Columbus, Ohio. Louise was born on June 28, 1920 in Warren, Ohio, daughter of Ralph and Josephine (Lapicherella) Protomastro who immigrated to the US from Vieste, Province of Foggia, Italy. She grew up in Warren, Ohio along with her siblings, Mary Schwartz, John Protomastro, Lena Procopio, Rose Ognibene, Ellen Martin, and Carmella Martin, all who are deceased. Louise leaves to cherish her memory, her family and husband, Vincent J. Marsico whom she married on August 19, 1944. They enjoyed a very full life together--traveling the world, ballroom dancing, canning tomatoes, making homemade pasta and preparing Italian dinners for those they loved. They stayed connected to their Italian roots hosting Italian relatives for weeks at a time. Louise was preceded in death by her son, James F. Marsico. She leaves behind her son David (Jana) Marsico, daughter-in-law Susan Dodge Marsico, granddaughters Amy (Nicholas Troccoli), Erin (Ed Kagel), Annie (John Oswalt), Carly (Dave Hazard), Chelsea, two great grandchildren who she delighted in and adored, Daniel and Elena Kagel and many nieces and nephews who she loved to stay in touch with. She was the best pie maker "ever", loved making brownies and pizzelles for friends and family, was an avid reader, enjoyed old movies, and was always up for a party. She passed on her love of baking and canning to her grandchildren. Her delicious German Chocolate Cake was a special birthday tradition. Her greatest joy was spending time with her family and sharing in their lives, which she did right up to her final days. Louise worked a swing shift at General Electric for 25 years while raising her two sons. After retiring, she and her husband began spending winters in Spain and Orange Beach, Alabama enjoying the many friends they made from all over the world, year after year. Mass will be held Friday at 10:00am at Our Lady of Mt. Carmel, Niles, Ohio where she was devoted to her faith and a lifelong member. Entombment will take place at Crown Hill Burial Park in Vienna, Ohio following the Mass. A Memorial luncheon will follow. The family wishes to thank Comfort Keepers' staff Martha and Alsonia, and OhioHealth Hospice for their wonderful care, kindness and compassion. Selby-T. J. Fox Funeral Home was entrusted with the arrangements.
