1918 - 2011
Niles - Marguerite Sara Meikle Clark, 93, peacefully passed away on Sunday, February 20, 2011, at Shepherd of the Valley in Niles.
Marguerite was born on January 31, 1918 in Fowler Township, the daughter of Thomas L. and Martha Guesman Meikle.
She graduated from Fowler High School and completed additional education in her favorite subject, accounting.
Her employment through the years was interesting and varied: Ohio Lamp Company, The Cortland Bank, Trumbull County Farm Office, and the Trumbull County Auditor's Office from which she retired in 1984 after 14 years of service as a bookkeeper.
Marguerite lived in Fowler area all of her life and was a member of the Fowler United Methodist Church. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and sister, and she had many wonderful friends. She enjoyed every moment when she was with her large family, and she had many hobbies that filled her spare time such as quilting, sewing, reading, playing cards and traveling.
Marguerite was preceded in death by her loving husband, Guss L. Clark; her parents, two brothers, Walter and Thomas Meikle; two sisters, Marjorie Carter and Ardale Baker; two brothers-in-law, Corydon Carter and Howard Baker; three (Meikle) sisters-in-law, Juanita, Bernice, and Lila; and one baby grandson.
Those left to cherish her memory are her two daughters, Carla (J. Darryl) James of Vienna, and Janis (Ron) Kurtz of Louisville, KY; four grandchildren, Darryl, Michael, Lisa and Brad; four great grandchildren, Darryl Anthony, Josh, Sydney and Addison; one great-great grandchild, Hailey; and two brothers, Arnold (June) Meikle and Robert Meikle.
Arrangements for cremation have been entrusted to Selby-Simpson Funeral Home with burial at Crown Hill Burial Park in Vienna, OH. There will be no calling hours. A memorial service celebrating Marguerite's life will be held at a later date, to be announced.
The family would like to thank Shepherd of the Valley in Niles and Celtic Hospice for their kind and loving care of Marguerite.
