1940 – 2017

Brookfield- Mary Lou Bates, 76, passed away Thursday, January 26, 2017 at her home in Brookfield.

She was born February 24, 1940 in Sharon, PA the daughter of Stanley and Mildred (Krohe) Amon.

Mary Lou attended Sharon High School and retired from Packard Electric in 1995 after 30 years of service. She loved the outdoors and all things nature especially all of her flowers and plants. Reading brought her the greatest pleasure. Her heart was full of love for her family and friends, and all she came to know.

She is survived by a son, Doug (Christine) Bates and a daughter, Tracy (Moe) Kline. Also left behind to cherish her memory are three sisters; Carol (Oscar) Mehler of Sharpsville, PA, Betty (Nick) Simko, and Shirley Gotch both of Hermitage, PA. and their five grandchildren; Chris Kline, Brandon Kline and Katie Kline all from Irwin, PA and Garrett Bates and Christopher Bates from Columbus, OH.

She was preceded in death by her former husband, Don Bates, in 2002.

Calling hours will be held in Vienna at the Crown Hill Mausoleum Chapel on Friday, February 3, 2017 from noon until 1:00 PM with the funeral service to begin at 1:00. Interment will be in the Crown Hill Burial Park.
