Mary L. Ulam entered into eternal rest on Saturday, December 20, 2025. Mary was born in Warren, OH, a daughter of James G. Blaine and Helen L. (Downs) Keifer.

Mary was a part of the graduating class of ‘47 at Warren G. Harding High School in Warren, OH. She worked as an airline hostess for TWA Airlines. She then furthered her education, obtaining a Bachelor’s degree in Education from Kent State University in 1966. She retired as an elementary teacher in the Warren City Schools.

She married Norman Ulam in 1975 and enjoyed many adventures with him until his passing in 2004.

Mary had a profound love of the outdoors, enjoying tennis, swimming, and hiking. She was adventurous in her older years, trying water skiing, kayaking, and zip lining while in her 80’s. To celebrate her 90th birthday, she took a hot air balloon ride, which she was thrilled with. She was a member of The Ohio Retired Teachers Association, National Daughters of the American Revolution, Society of Mayflower Descendants in the State of Ohio, Ohio Genealogical Society and St. John’s Lutheran Church in Youngstown.

Mary leaves behind many who loved her including nieces and nephews Marilyn Lloyd, Jim (Wilma) Keifer, Robert (Kathy) Keifer, Kent (Heidi) Keifer, Ron (Cathy) Keech, Brad (Rosalyn) Daugherty and many great and great-great nieces and nephews.

Preceding her in death were her parents, husband Norm, and siblings Robert (Elizabeth) Keifer, Josephine (Ron) Keech, and Janis (Bruce) Daugherty.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that any donations be made to Animal Welfare League of Vienna, OH, as Mary was a great animal lover.

A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, Jan 6, 2026 from 11am-12pm at Crown Hill Burial Park Chapel and Mausoleum in Vienna, OH.
