Warren - Paul L. "Dado" Shaffer, 82, died Sunday, June 13, 2010 at Trumbull Memorial Hospital. He was born November 1, 1927 in Massillon, OH, the son of Willis A. and Myrtle (Davis) Shaffer. Paul graduated from Massillon Washington High School in June of 1946. He served in the U.S. Navy after graduation, serving in the Pacific Theater. He retired in 1983 after 38 years of working at the Ohio Bell Telephone Co., where he was also involved with the Junior Achievement Program. Paul enjoyed boating and was an avid fisherman. He also loved his animals. Paul was married October 21, 1949 to Geraldine (Jerry) Keller. They had the privilege of celebrating 60 wonderful years of marriage in 2009. Together they spent many wonderful winters in Key Largo, FL. Paul is survived by his wife, Jerry; a daughter, Paula (Gary) Schultz of Vienna; three sons, Gregory (Tonya) Shaffer of Key Largo, FL, Mark (Cathy) Shaffer of Columbus, OH, and Jay (Amber) Shaffer of Cudjoe Key, FL. His memory will be celebrated by 10 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Willis A. Shaffer, Jr., and L. Dean Shaffer; and sisters, Evelyn (Shaffer) Blake, Doris (Shaffer) Burd. The funeral will be Tuesday at 2:00 pm with a calling hours one hour prior to the funeral service, at Crown Hill Chapel Mausoleum in Vienna, Oh. Selby-Simpson Funeral Home handled the arrangements.
