Obituary

1936 - 2017

Liberty Township – Ralph L. McCauley, 81, passed away at his home Saturday, June 10, at 7:00 pm. He was born February 15, 1936 in Philippi, WV, the son of Claude and Reba Jean Anglin McCauley.

Ralph worked hard all of his life, first in the fields, then as a Corporal in the U.S. Army from 1953 to 1956. From the Army he worked for 32 years as Millright for J & L Steel (Campbell Works). In the meantime, he did plumbing and drove a bus for the Liberty Local Schools for 10 years, until retirement.

Ralph married his sweetheart, Rebecca Gillis, while he was home on Christmas leave, December 24, 1955. Together they had one daughter, Leola Carol (Mark) Sandine. He also leaves behind two grandchildren, Bill (Nicole) Spiker and Amanda Spiker, and two great-grandchildren, Grace and Blake Spiker.

The family wants to say Thank You to everyone who was thinking of them while Ralph was under the care of Hospice. And to thank Ralph for always working so hard, and for saving what he earned to make sure his family always had what they needed. We love you Grandpa!

Private services were held at the Crown Hill Burial Park in Vienna, OH with arrrangements provided by the Selby – T. J. Fox Funeral Home.

Material Tributes can be made in Honor of Ralph McCauley to Baptist Gospel Tabernacle, 2558 Homestead Rd., Youngstown, OH 44505 or to Rebecca McCauley.
