Raymond W. Pierce

Brookfield- Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Thursday at the Selby-Simpson Funeral Home in Vienna for Raymond W. Pierce, age 80, of Brookfield, who died early Saturday morning at Meadowbrook Manor.
Raymond was born August 5, 1930 in Warren to the late Ward C. and Elizabeth P. (Clark) Pierce.
He was a Veteran of the U. S. Army serving in the 2nd Armor Division, Company D, 67th Tank Battalion during the Korean War. Raymond was employed, as a manager, with Sparkle Market from 1963 to 1975 and employed as a driver with Borden Dairy from 1975 until his retirement in 1992.
Raymond was a member of the American Legion Post #506 in Kinsman, the Moose Lodge #1012 in Cortland, and Teamsters Local #377. He was an avid golfer and bowler, Past President of the Crest Lanes Senior League, and the Tuesday Traveling Golf League, and Friday League at Prestwick.
Raymond is survived by his four sons, Douglas and James both of Bristolville, David of Warren, and Dennis of West Mecca; three grandsons, a granddaughter, two great-grandsons, and two great-granddaughters; a brother Rev. Donald Owensboro, KY; and a sister Ruth Bowen of Dunedin, FL.
Raymond also leaves his companion Betty Shaffer.
Raymond was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, Chester and Hubert, and his sister Virginia.
Friends may call Wednesday from 6-8 p.m. at the funeral home.
