Boardman - Robert (Bob) P. Oliver, 78, of Brookfield, died Monday, September 27, 2010, at St. Elizabeth Boardman Health Center.
Robert was born January 26, 1932 in Youngstown, Ohio, the son of Albert and Margaret (Lyons) Oliver.
Robert graduated from Wilson High School. He also graduated from the Quartermaster School and served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War.
He was employed by Mahoning National Bank as a master painter for 35 years, retiring in 1994. Robert also was a contractor for Oliver & Son Painting Inc., which he owned.
Robert was a member of Painter Local 476. He enjoyed golfing, collecting antiques, flea markets and spending time at the family's cabin Bob O-Link near Tionesta, Pa.
Robert, a loving father and husband, is survived by his wife of 55 years, the former Bonnie Faye (Farris) Oliver: son, Robert A. (Lori) Oliver of Brookfield; daughters, Cecilia (Robert) Durrett of Houston, TX, Paula (Rodney) Bender Oliver of Vienna, and Brenda (Jason) Whitehair of Dallas, TX; grandchildren Robert Jr., Rebecca, Roman, Corbin, Braxton, Justin and Nathan; and many nieces and nephews.
Roberts parents, brothers Billy, Albert and Vince Oliver, and sisters, Margaret Perchiacca and Ethel Ciafa preceded him in death.
A service will be held on Friday at 11:00 am at Crown Hill Chapel Mausoleum in Vienna, Ohio.
