Robert E. Pollard 1930 - 2011
Mooresville, NC - Robert Eugene Pollard, 80, a former resident of Warren, Ohio, passed away May 30 at his Mooresville, NC home following an extended illness.
Robert was born on August 30, 1930 in Champion, Ohio to Gladys (Hatch) and Raymond Pollard.
He graduated from Howland High School in 1948.
He served his country in the US Air Force from 1950-1954 as an airplane mechanic. Following his time in the service, he worked as an electrician at Republic Steel in Warren, Ohio for 17 years and then at Packard Electric, also in Warren, for 25 years retiring in 1991.
He enjoyed square dancing with the Trumbull Spinners and was a member of the Goldwing Motorcycle Club in Warren, Ohio.
He was a terrific and devoted family man and was dearly loved by all. He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Mary H. (Poland) Pollard whom he married in 1951, 3 daughters, Deborah (Dennis) Evans of NC, Linda Pollard of Vienna, Oh, and Tamara (Eric)Sutton of Mooresville, NC, a brother, Ralph Pollard of Warren, Oh, a sister, Evelyn Poff, seven grandchildren, and six great-grandchildren.
He is preceded in death by his parents, a brother, William Pollard, and a grandson, Robbie Evans.
Friends and family will be received at Crown-Hill Burial Park Chapel Mausoleum from 2pm to 4pm on Friday, June 3, with a service immediately following.
Entombment will take place in Crown Hill Burial Park.
