1958 - 2016

Liberty Twp. - Robert L. Smith, Jr., 57, died Sunday evening, April 24, 2016 at Select Specialty Hospital in Youngstown.

Bob was born September 9, 1958 in Huntington, WV, the son of Robert L. and Julia M. (Sarver) Smith, Sr.

Formerly of Garrettsville, Bob served in the U.S. Army and was later employed by Metaulics Systems in Solon, OH.

He married the former Leslee L. Taylor of Liberty Twp. on December 3, 1994.

Bob enjoyed many vacations with his wife at Cook Forest, PA.

He had a close relationship with his father-in-law, William Taylor, whom he worked with many years in the vending business.

Bob was like a big brother and friend to his nephew, Garry, and they enjoyed going to car auctions together. Bob had a special place in his heart for his 6 year old great-nephew, Johnny, and would play games with him for hours. He was loved by his great niece, Alicia, and she enjoyed going on trips with him and his wife.

Bob loved the simple things in life, spending time with his wife and family, and also his Jack Russell, "Scooby," whom he called "Daddy's Boy".

Bob leaves behind to cherish his memory his parents, Robert L. and Julia M. Smith of Ironton, OH; Leslee L. Smith, of Liberty Twp.; two sons, Alan R. Smith of Ravenna and John P. (Tabitha) Smith of Garrettsville; sisters, Kathy L. (Tim) Shea of Myrtle Beach, SC and Carol S. Smith of Ironton, OH; a granddaughter Zoey L. Smith; a grandson, Zackary P. Smith and several nieces and nephews.

Services for Bob will be Friday, at Crown Hill Chapel Mausoleum in Vienna, at 1:00 pm, with visitation one hour prior to the service from 12:00 to 1:00 pm. Pastor Don Sparman will officiate.

Burial will take place in Crown Hill Burial Park.
