Warren - Thomas B. Burkholder, 95, passed away Friday, June 24, 2016 at the Shepherd of the Valley facility in Niles, OH.

He was born June 1, 1921 in Greensburg, PA to Thomas B. Burkholder and Carrie Ritenaur Burkholder.

Thomas was an Army Veteran of WWII in the Central Europe campaigns of Normandy, Northern France and Rhineland. He served as an M.P. where he was awarded several medals including 4 Bronze Stars and a Good Conduct Medal.

He married the former Naomi Greenaway on November 17, 1948. Together they had one son, Thomas B. Burkholder III (Charlotte) of Warren who survive along with Thomas's sister, Dorothy Steele of Greensburg, PA. Also left to cherish his memory are two grandchildren, Trevor (Stephanie) and Shane (Madison) all of Warren, OH.

He was preceded in death by His wife, Naomi who passed away December 11, 2011, brothers Kenneth and John and a sister, Helen.

Thomas was a member of the V.F.W. and the American Legion. He was an avid Pittsburgh sports fan and enjoyed gardening, refinishing furniture, golfing and especially spending time with his family. He was a member of the Methodist Faith.

Calling hours will be Tuesday, June 28th at the Crown Hill Mausoleum Chapel in Vienna, OH from noon until one o'clock with the funeral service at 1 P.M. Entombment will be in their Chapel of Love following a committal military service.
