Veldon L. Patterson 1930 - 2012

Warren - Veldon L. "Pete" Patterson, Sr. 82, died at his residence, Monday, October 29, 2012.

Veldon was born January 28, 1930, in Bryan, Ohio, the son of the late Clarence H. and Treva (Steward) Patterson.

He worked for Cleveland Steel Container Corp as a lithographer for 20 years, retiring in 1993.

Veldon married his wife of 62 years, Mildred Jeanette Patterson on May 20, 1950.

He enjoyed traveling, motor cycling and fishing. Veldon was also a volunteer fireman for St. Clairsville VFD for many years.

Veldon leaves behind his sons, Veldon L. (Bonnie) Patterson Jr. of Crestview, FL, and Michael J. (Jeanette) Patterson of Belmont, OH; his daughters, Cherie ( Ronald Dennis) Hindman of St. Clairsville, OH and Teri Lyn Paskel of Howland; sisters, Marcilene Brewster of North Port, FL, Barbara Barber of Bryan, OH, Doris Ziessler of Bellefontaine, OH, Linda Hulbert of Bryan, OH, Beverly Lorntz of Pleasant Lake, IN, and Patricia Smith of Bryan, OH; nine grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren. He also leaves behind many nieces and nephews.

Brothers, Clarence Jr., Leonard Carl, Donald Larry, Richard Charles, and Sherrell Dean and a sister, Deborah Whitlock preceded Veldon in death.

Funeral services will take place at 12:00 pm, Thursday, at Crown Hill Chapel Mausoleum in Vienna, with visitation one hour prior to the service.

Entombment will take place in Crown Hill Burial Park.
