William A. Lutheron 1923 - 2013

Niles - William "Bill" A. Lutheron, 90, died Thursday, August 22, 2013 at Autumn Hill Care Center in Niles. Bill was born April 11, 1923 in Youngstown, OH, a son of Andrew and Caroline (Russ) Lutheron.

He was a 1942 Graduate of South High School and attended Youngstown College and Ohio State University.

Bill served in the Ohio National Guard and was a veteran of WWII, in the ETO and MTO in Italy.

He was an active member of the labor movement, United Steelworkers of America, AFLCIO District 26 of Youngstown. He was a district 26 union counselor and licensed Workman's Compensation representative in the state of Ohio, and was active as the elected Local Union 1617 officer of the General Fireproofing Union District 26 until his retirement in 1980.

He was employed as a pipefitter at General Fireproofing Company for 37 years, retiring in 1980.

Bill was past Post Commander of 3307, was a member of VFW Post 419 in Girard, American Legion Post 235 in Girard and the Fraternal Order of Eagles aerie No. 2172 in Girard.

He enjoyed hunting and fishing and playing cards.

He leaves behind a daughter, Billie Jean Cuckovich; two granddaughters, two step-daughters, six step grandchildren and eight step great-grandchildren.

His wife, Gloria M. (Wolfe) Lutheron preceded him in death.

Calling hours will be Saturday, from 10:00 am to 11:00 am, with the funeral service to follow at 11:00, at Crown Hill Chapel Mausoleum in Vienna.

Entombment will take place at Crown Hill Burial Park.
