Niles - Zelda Cessna, 90, of Niles, passed away Saturday, October 22, 2016, at Shepherd of the Valley, Howland.
Zelda was born October 6, 1926 in Plumville, PA, the daughter of Clifford and Rueoma Milliron Colkitt. She graduated from Plumville High School in 1944, where she was valedictorian of her class.
She was a member of the First United Presbyterian Church of Niles and a member of Ohio Child Conservation League Mother's Club.
She enjoyed spending time with her daughters and her beloved husband, Jim. Her summers were spent at their cottage in Pennsylvania, along the Alleghany river.
Zelda was a very gifted woman, who loved to spend time doing needlepoint, knitting, painting and writing poetry. Many hours were spent making handmade doll furniture, but her true talent was sewing. She designed and made clothes for herself and her daughters, as well as her friends.
Zelda is survived by daughters, Dianna (Stephen) Ferro and Karen Cessna (Tim Boger) and her beloved rescue dog, Chelsea.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 65 years, James Cessna, and daughter, Linda Cessna.
She will be greatly missed by her family and all who knew her. She was a kind and gentle spirit, making friends wherever she went.
Visitation will be from 11 to 12:00 pm, with memorial service to be held at 12:00 pm, Saturday, Oct. 29, 2016 at in Crown Hill's Chapel Mausoleum in Vienna.
Selby-Fox Funeral Home was entrusted with the arrangements.
